Terrasil +

TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

Definition

TERRASIL+ is a waterproofing agent on a nanometric scale, which is reactive, permanent and soluble in water. Its application is in the field of soil stabilisation, understood as the improvement of mechanical and hydraulic properties and the maintenance of these over time and under load.

It is a fifth generation organosilane, reactive at room temperature, soluble in water and bitumen, and hydrolytically stable. It provides permanent waterproofing of the aggregates, while improving compaction even with lower humidity.

Action mode

TERRASIL+ is a soil modifier additive composed of 100% organosilanes, water soluble, heat and UV stable. Its main action, therefore, consists of the waterproofing of soils and subsoils.

It possesses silanol groups, which react with the silicates present in the soil, transforming its surface and giving it permanent hydrophobic properties.

Thus, the soil will repel water molecules, making it waterproof and avoiding the problems derived from the presence of water.

Benefits

  1. The treated soil achieves permanently hydrophobic characteristics.
  2. It reduces the swelling of the soil.
  3. It reduces the permeability of soils.
  4. They improve the properties of soils such as CBR, Resilient Modulus…
  5. Density and compaction data on site are improved.
  6. It is possible to reduce the water consumption necessary for the compaction of the material.
